Better API keys for the Avox API: names, test keys and safer rotation
Each API key now has a name and description, test keys never send a real message, and rotating a key keeps its limits.
The Avox API lets your own systems send WhatsApp messages. Managing the keys that do it is now clearer and safer.
- NewEvery key has a name and an optional description, so you always know which system uses which key.
- NewTest keys check your requests and answer with a pretend result, without sending anything. Live keys send real messages.
- ImprovedWhen you rotate a key, you choose when the old one stops working: straight away, or after a grace period. The new key keeps the old one's limits.
- SecurityCreating, rotating or revoking a key asks for a code we email to you.
- ImprovedEvery API error has a code, and each code is explained in the docs.
Keys are shown once, when you create them, so store yours somewhere safe. Requests your keys made appear in API logs in the dashboard.
